After my father passed away, my personal, professional, and academic lives for the next 14 months became a living nightmare. Managing my father’s estate was a full time job, I was still going to school, and war had erupted between my production manager and I. Between life and work, every day was a huge grind. I could not believe that this was the promised land, the results of going to school, getting good grades, so that I could get a good job. I remember lying in bed, unable to sleep, one night thinking that there had to be more to life than grinding it out a job 40 hours at a time for 40 years.
Ironically though, even though those were the darkest days of my life, I am eternally grateful for them. I consider myself extremely lucky, because what I experienced in those 14 months served as the greatest wake up call I have ever received. Most people only have life or their career beating down on them at any given time; it makes their lives uncomfortable, but they just cope with it since it’s not too bad.

I’ve had the opportunity to find great individuals who serve as teachers and role models for me. I am eternally grateful for my continuing association with them. They’ve not only taught me the value of entrepreneurship and how to make money in the information age, but most importantly the value of lifestyle and personal development.
It is my personal belief that with the right attitude, set of skills, and some guidance, anyone can have success in the new land of opportunity– the internet. It’s scary to think that the internet as we know it is only 14 years old, and it has already fundamentally changed everything about how business is normally done.
